Great Games Still to Be Launched in 2018
In the first 6 months of 2018, gamers have been pretty busy trying out the latest releases of their favourite games or even new games altogether that managed to get their attention. Out of all the games released in 2018 so far, God of War is undeniably the best release so far. However, the year is not over yet and there are some scheduled releases that could mean serious competition.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth
Scheduled for release on the 14th of August, the new installment of Blizzard’s MMO is going to act as a breath of fresh air for the now 14-year-old game. Well, when we say fresh air, it’s actually quite old considering that Battle of Azeroth is kind of a throwback to the classic battles between the Horde and the Alliance. The maximum level you can reach is 120 and you can be sure that there will be a lot of new raids and fresh dungeons to explore along with your teammates.
Destiny 2: Forsaken
What was announced as a big hit, turned out to be a source of frustration for many Destiny 2 players. Bungie are doing their best to revive the game and regain the good will of millions of fans worldwide. And revenge could be the perfect motivator for the fans to return to Destiny 2 thanks to the Forsaken expansion. Furthermore, each Guardian subclass will have a new Super Ability to test as well as an entirely new weapon class: Bow. Besides the storyline and the possible revenge of Cayde-6, another good reason to direct your attention towards Destiny 2 is Gambit. A new mode that puts competition at top level blending PvP and PvE modes in one colossal battlefield. The Forsaken expansion will hit the shelves on the 4th of September.
Spider-Man
There are already several Spider-Man games out there, however, none of them managed to become the hit sensation everyone expected. Insomniac Games decided to take a swing and make the Marvel superhero a popular game character and the release date is scheduled for late September. Most known for the Ratchet and Clank series, the studio will allow you to swing from building to building and keep the peace in New York. Besides the name, it doesn’t link with any comic book or movie so there’s no pressure from a storyline point of view. This can be a pro and a con at the same time because it means the producers can come with something new but at the same time, chances are that the lack of continuity will be felt. All we can do is wait and see what Insomniac Games will be able to do with the franchise and how good Spider-Man will turn out to be.
FIFA 19
EA is constantly trying to bring new elements and make each FIFA product better than the previous one, however, in the last installments of the series, the only new things brought in were the transfer updates. Indeed, graphic-wise FIFA 18 was a step forward, however, we still lack that big element of surprise. Well, it seems that the guys at EA heard us since we’ll be able to enjoy the UEFA Champions League mode in the new FIFA 19. The Europa League as well as Super Cup competitions will also be present and it really sounds like the perfect recipe for a vamped-up football simulator that everyone is expecting. Also, the Active Touch System should allow players to have more control as well as being able to fake trap the ball or fine-tune their timing. The new FIFA doesn’t come out until the 28th of September so in the meantime you can quench your thirst for football by enjoying sport-themed slots at PokiesWay.
So, there you have it. Some of the most-awaited games that are still to be launched towards the end of a great year for gamers. What is the title you’re expecting the most? Share your thoughts in the comment section!
