Monster Hunter Wilds — How to Catch a Grand Escunite
Do you need help finishing up Kanya’s fishing side quests in Monster Hunter Wilds? Well, you’ve come to the right place! This is a quick guide on how you can capture yourself a Grand Escunite for the “Razzle Dazzle” side quest.
Once you’ve gotten the side quest, you don’t need to head out of the Scarlet Forest, as you’re already in the prime location to find it. It can spawn several places around the forest, including in Area 17 at Great Lake Shore and between Area 12 and 13 near the Northeast camp, but I personally recommend The Underground Lake in Area 8. It is also more likely to spawn at night and during the season of Plenty. Set down a Pop-up camp there if you haven’t already.
It is a decently rare spawn but you’ll know when you see it as it glows a distinctive blue. Check both the water in front of the camp and the pool that you need to swim to. If it isn’t there, head into your Pop-up camp and rest using the above conditions to reset the spawns.
If you’re worried about running out of points, capture the Goldenfish and Platinumfish in the water. You should get plenty of points and zenny. Use the Tentacle Jig and you should capture it no problem. That’s all I can give you, but here’s a word of warning: when fishing, using a capture net to catch fish doesn’t count towards completing the quest. No cheating. Happy hunting, because there's plenty more fish in the sea!
