Useful Sodas to Pick For Your Sodaman Run
I have been playing a lot of Sodaman lately as I got to preview the game; this title is so fun and addictive that I just can’t put it down! There is a huge selection of different sodas available during your run, so if you are starting to play, the choice can be overwhelming when you try to figure out which types are worth selecting to help you the most. I have played for many hours and have tried out a lot of the different kinds available, so I thought I would share a selection of some of my favourite sodas that were the most useful. There is no guarantee that these sodas will appear for you, but if any of these types show up, they are worth trying.
I wanted something that automatically attacks on its own, so I watched for sodas that fire an attack when you get hit or are set off when you reload your gun. There are attacks attached to when you dash, but I found these tricky to use at times because that move has a cooldown period, so there is a limit on how many times you can dash.
Cobra Spit
This soda will cause you to spit out a Toxic Ball, hitting the nearest enemy. Upon impact, the ball explodes, dealing damage by hitting multiple enemies and applying Toxic to add an extra hit. The base damage is 400 and the radius is five meters.
Radium Cola
Whenever you reload your gun, this cola Smites (hits with a firm blow) the enemies closest to you. At level one, it deals 260 Smite damage and its range is 6m, and if you pick up two of this soda type, its level goes up to two, and the amount of damage increases to 442. The more you collect, the more the damage dealt goes up, and as you are constantly shooting and reloading, this is a powerful soda type and you will take out a lot of enemies just with this soda type.
Meltdown
All your attacks deal an increased amount of damage (even at level one, your damage is increased by 21%). It is always great when you can hurt the enemy more right from the start, leaving your other sodas to do extra damage. There is a possibility they will be exposed to radiation and take additional damage.
Red Thirst
This soda isn’t an attack but will be beneficial during your run. When you kill an enemy, you will get extra base attack damage and base health regeneration for a limited period of time. It is hard to find the health replenishing items so it is beneficial to try and keep healing. Every 0.015 seconds, you will recover two hit points.
Helios
Summon mini stars to surround you that lock on and attack any enemies close to you; this is handy to keep advancing foes away from you. This soda can be stacked making it deal more and more damage and hitting more enemies. The more of this type you stack, the more stars will surround you, dealing more damage.
Blitz
This attack will deal 20% more damage than usual and triggers Chain Lightning, which deals an extra 10% on top of the regular attack, possibly electrocuting the enemy.
Purple Pain
This soda deploys a Disc of Electric that launches at the nearest enemy and bounces around for six seconds and also creates a Chain Lightning that damages for 120 seconds. There is a 33% chance that the enemy will be electrocuted.
Death Kick
With this soda, you will kick nearby enemies, knocking them back and dealing damage. At the first level, you will kick nine enemies in a range of five meters, dealing 390 damage and pushing them away.
Hattori
This can is so cute with a little ninja on the label! This soda will shoot out Kunais on cooldown that deal damage and apply blood to the enemies surrounding you in a circular pattern. The 10 throwing knives will deal 300 damage and ricochet, hitting another target.
These are just some of the different types of soda that I used during my playtime. I found that selecting the ones that automatically attack without you having to do anything additional is handy. This way I could concentrate more on avoiding enemy attacks and finding the locations on the map I wanted to visit. Hope this helps you figure out which type of soda will be useful when you play.
If you have discovered any other types that I have missed or haven't encountered yet, be sure to leave a comment below!
