YouTube Gaming is Oversaturated, so what?
Have you ever thought about creating your own channel for YouTube? Perhaps doing let’s plays, reviews, commentary or critical analysis of various games but found yourself stopped by thinking something along the lines of “The community is oversaturated, countless people do it! I will never get anywhere!”?
Not with that attitude, you won’t. There is nothing wrong with starting your own channel for gaming and there is no need to worry about if you will become popular, famous or rich. You should be producing videos for your own sake and you should ensure that you enjoy yourself whilst you do it. If you have enough time on your hands to produce a video, edit it, crop it down and eliminate anything you dislike. You should be willing to provide your voice to the video as well as be willing to put in the effort to make it entertaining for people to watch.
I have a friend who recently debated about the idea of booting up and starting his own YouTube channel and within less than a week he has already maintained a steady 500 views on his videos; something that some people don’t experience after an entire year. I feel that the reason for this is that his videos have some measurable form of intelligence but he is careful with his words and doesn’t throw out insults, swear words or anything that may be seen as offensive. His unique personality is a huge selling point for him. I have played with them for upwards of a year at this point, I can promise you that being around this particular gentleman will always bring a smile to your face.
I am not here to advertise my friend’s YouTube channel and I am not going to hand out links or anything like that. I am here to encourage you to give it a go and try to make your own YouTube channel and enjoy yourself out there and see what happens! My advice is to make it a group so that you and your friends can ensure frequent and decent content on your channel. Provided that you all collaborated, you would find yourself all benefiting.
Everyone has a unique personality and everyone has their own opinions and perspective on things and you should use this to your advantage. Despite plenty of people saying that Let’s Play’s and other such content are overused on YouTube. Due to how many people make similar content on YouTube, someone will always succeed and through hard work, rise above the rest.
YouTube stars are like famous athletes, there are plenty of people that do something similar, plenty of people that play the same sport and plenty of people that record videos for YouTube. The point being that others have gotten famous through both of these methods prove that members of the public with persistence and who can play to their own strengths stand a chance of succeeding and rising above everyone else! If you keep on putting it off, keep on making excuses, then you will never achieve anything. There is nothing stopping you from creating your own YouTube channel other than yourself.
