Boulies Master Series 2024 Chair Review

As my old gaming chair, with its cracking faux leather and faulty gas cylinder, letting me down (literally), I was excited to check out the Boulies Master Series with its fabric covering and the fact it’s not like any gaming chair I’ve been in.

While I wouldn’t call it lightweight, it’s definitely lighter than my old chair but still feels firmly placed on the ground. The W/R (water-repellent) fabric has a nice texture, and there is a premium feel to the armrests with their shiny metal parts and rubber tops. The chair feels solid when assembled, with only a slight wobble when rocked side-to-side. The handles underneath feel a little flimsy, but unless you’re constantly adjusting the height and making it lean back, you’re not really going to notice. The handle which allows you to control the backrest tilt, however, feels nice and solid.

My only issue is a slight one, as the head cushion has a band that slips over the top of the chair, which doesn’t keep it in place if it happens to move up by a few centimetres. That’s not a regular occurrence, but I can imagine that if I’m a bit restless, it’ll keep pinging off.

The best feature of the Boulies Master Series is the lumbar support: the other chairs in this brand might have it, but I don't know as I don't have another to compare. It’s controlled using a knob on either side of the chair, allowing you to fine-tune its position. Honestly, I thought that I’d be messing around with it for a week, but it was pretty easy to find the best position in a matter of hours.

The armrests can move up and down, side-to-side, as well as forwards and backwards. They were very easy to situate in the best position for using a computer all day, and I can alter them if anyone else needs to sit at my desk.

The seat cushions have rounded edges, which definitely allow me to sit more comfortably than the more angular ones of my old chair. I like to sit with my foot underneath me, so I couldn’t always get a good position with angular sides. Even when leaning at an angle to get some nice ASMR podcast recording closeness to the microphone, I’m always comfortable on my Boulies Master Series chair.

The Boulies Master Series chair is not the cheapest chair on the market, but it definitely does feel like it’s a premium product. The foam and fabric are comfortable, it’s easy to get set up, and it feels like it will last for a good long while.
