Can Your PC Run Monster Hunter Wilds? System Requirements & Benchmark Guide
Monster Hunter Wilds has been out in the wild a few times throughout its beta periods, but not everyone has had the opportunity to check it out. Thankfully, the tests aren't the only way for you to see whether you'll be able to run the game!
First, let's look at the System Requirements that CAPCOM has already shared for their title. They are giving us a look and an idea as to what sort of PC you'll need to run the title on. Honestly, It's looking pretty good, seeing as both the Minimum and Recommended sections are met by a large portion of the Steam userbase. Here's what we know:
Minimum System Requirements:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows®10 (64-bit Required)/Windows®11 (64-bit Required)
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-10400 or Intel® Core™ i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660(VRAM 6GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 XT(VRAM 8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p (upscaled from 720 native resolution) / 30 fps under the "Lowest" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.
Recommended System Requirements:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows®10 (64-bit Required)/Windows®11 (64-bit Required)
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-10400 or Intel® Core™ i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2060 Super(VRAM 8GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 6600(VRAM 8GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p / 60 fps (with Frame Generation enabled) under the "Medium" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported.
It's worth noting that the above is used for 1080p resolutions with 60fps, which is still the most-famous resolution on Steam by a landslide, but it is showing the Medium graphics option as well. However, this isn't the only way to check if you'll be able to run Monster Hunter Wilds.
If this isn't answering all of your questions, then there is also the Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark tool that you can use to find out how your game will run. The 78.8GB download will give you the opportunity to learn more about how your PC will run it by first compiling shaders to optimise the performance, and then you'll be able to select from settings to see how the game will run in your desired ones, including resolution and graphics!
Once you've finished your download, you'll be able to test your setup by:
- Compiling shaders to optimise the performance and see real framerate numbers with the shaders compiled
- Select graphic settings to simulate different in-game experiences, from lowest to ultra
- Watching the in-game cinematic and gameplay segments to see your FPS live and see how it would look in practice
The benchmark shows you an in-game cinematic to show you the performance and then moves on to gameplay, showing how the world will look and your FPS with each scene. This should give you a great idea on whether you can run the game on the settings you selected and whether it'll be at a playable framerate.
It's a bit of a lengthy process, so you might need to allocate quite some time to do it for the download and the optimisation. However, once done, you can rest assured that you'll know how you'll be able to run the game!
Monster Hunter Wildsis set to release on the 28th of February 2025.
