Dream Alone Creeps Onto Steam, Nintendo Switch
Described as a "grim fairy tale" with an aesthetic to backup the claim, WarSaw and Fat Dog Games' Dream Alone has hit digital shelves and is currently available for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam with XBox One and PlayStation 4 releases expected to follow in quarter four later this year.
Appealingly similar to games like Limbo and Inside, Dream Alone draws inspiration from black and white silent films (specifically of German origin) and pits the lone, young protagonist against a host of Gothic horrors in order to rescue his parents, who has fallen mysteriously ill. The story unfolds as the game progresses...but don't expect to just blow through it; WarSaw Games promises a harrowing and brutally difficult experience in which players will swap between "hellish alternate realities," slow down time, and even create clones in order to progress through the game's levels.
“We wanted to capture the atmosphere of classic horror, and the [award-winning composer Pawel 'Fleczer' Flan's] music instantly transports players into the game,” said Darek Skrzypkowski, CEO, Fat Dog Games. “Dream Alone is a fairy tale for players to take part in, with mysteries to uncover in the grand tradition of folklore.”
The game is available now for $9.99 on digital storefronts for Steam and Nintendo Switch.
