Everything You Need to Know About Tales of Seikyu's Early Access Launch

Developed by ACE Entertainment and published by Fireshine Games, Tales of Seikyu is an upcoming Early Access farming simulator where players take on the role of a Yokai from the Fox Clan heading to the titular island. A haven for all non-human beings, players inherit a farmland passed down through the generations to start their new adventures.

Releasing soon in Early Access, we wanted to take a look at everything you need to know about its imminent release.

Why is Tales of Seikyu releasing in Early Access?

As the team acknowledges the huge undertaking and to bring Seikyu properly to life, they want to involve the community in the entire process, keeping their interests in mind. Uniting player feedback, opinions, and what works best for the title will be the team's priority throughout the Early Access period.

How Long Will the Early Access Period Last?

Tales of Seikyu's Early Access begins on the 21st of May 2025, and the team is hoping for it to last for around one year, meaning that its full experience could be getting an announcement sometime in Q2 or Q3 of 2026.

What Is the Current State of the Game?

The developers have been very open about what'll be available in the first version of the Early Access, so we have a fair bit to share regarding this area. Here is everything we are expecting to launch during the Early Access period:

  • The entirety of the first chapter of the story, taking part in the early-game section of the narrative, with more coming in throughout the updates.
  • The first three Yokai forms: Boar, Slime, and Tengu.
  • Six villagers to romance: Nyotengu, Hephaestus, Musashi, Liliana, Yohji, and Anna, with more arriving throughout the Early Access period
  • Over 40 seeds and crops, including seasonal growth mechanics to keep it engaging throughout the year
  • Farm extensions, where your land will begin relatively small, and then purchasing new plots to farm on, giving a sense of progression
  • Puzzles are scattered throughout the Island of Seikyu for players to interact with and solve
  • A community building system, starting with the Casino and Tavern, with more to come depending on community feedback
  • Over 50 recipes to cook, including utilising crops, foraged items, and fish, giving you buffs or working as perfect gifts for the villagers
  • Over 100 pieces of furniture to build your home in Seikyu, ranging from cute and cosy to more role-play-focused traditional Eastern aesthetic
  • The first two boss battles to fight against, though the team is hoping to polish the combat experience even more throughout the Early Access period and the road to 1.0
  • The Spring festival: Carp Festival, with more coming based on community feedback from this.
  • Four supported languages: English, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

How Will the Release Version Differ From the Early Access?

We talked a bit about what's available, but what will be changing? The list of additions coming leading up to 1.0 and beyond is equally as staggering as the things already available:

  • More story chapters and more quests (including the conclusion)
  • New Yokai transformations (though it isn't evident how many will be present)
  • More romanceable NPCs, including Sasaki, Miss Ama, Shuten, Torleone, Leon, Yoni, Mika, Yui Oda, and a secret, unnamed one
  • Marriage, which will allow you to connect to your preferred bachelor/bachelorette even more
  • More customisations in the form of hair styles, hair colours, skin tones, and more
  • Pets
  • Ranching, letting you tend to animals ranging from cows to capybara
  • A restorative hot spring with a "mysterious girl", who might become a more important character later on
  • Additional new boss battles, including scaling difficulty from the original two available
  • New outfits
  • Over 100+ new furniture pieces to be added
  • Bug fixes and optimisation
  • More languages, increasing the localisation and reachability of Tales of Seikyu
  • Further farm expansions to continue growing your land and acquire more crops (or for ranching space!)
  • NPC birthdays to celebrate with your favourite characters
  • New casino games
  • And more

Will Tales of Seikyu Be Priced Differently at Launch?

There isn't a definitive answer, but the team is expecting a slight increase in the pricing of the game after 1.0 launches to reflect the wealth of new content added. If you're interested in the title, picking it up in its Early Access period gives you a good, upfront discount against how it might be pricedat a later date.

How Will the Community Be Involved in the Development Process?

For everyone who wants to participate in the discussions and development process, the best way for players to offer their feedback is through the various social media channels, though most specifically, the Discord communityis highlighted for collecting feedback. You can also give your thoughts through X or the official Steam discussions.

If you're looking forward to the title, you can pick it up when the Early Access launches on the 21st of May 2025!
