
Learn Everything About Dinkum's Official Launch!
Dinkum is a life & farming simulator inspired by Australia, where players set off to build a thriving town, go out on adventures, decorate, and more. The game's been out in Early Access for three years, and it's heading straight to launch with a 93% Very Positive score on Steam and nearly a whopping 20,000 reviews.
Here's everything you can expect with the official release:
- Creative Mode (WARNING: Steam achievements will be permanently disabled for the save file if this mode is switched on).
- A Town Bell deed can be unlocked after completing the Town Hall; when hit with a weapon or tool, it will show an icon for all the villagers on the map for 30 seconds.
- A Bug Terrarium will be available, which becomes available when players reach level 30 in Bug Catching, and it works to produce Silk.
- Four new villagers.
- New vehicle: Planes, which can be driven with the Pilot License and can carry two people. It's faster than the helicopter but cannot hover in mid-air.
- Gold Ore and Nuggets have been added, and they have a higher chance of appearing during heat waves.
- Villagers have their own inventory now, and players can give them tools thatthey'll use when hanging out or give them clothes to wear.
- Players can be revived by nearby Villagers.
- A new request has been added to Villagers to decrease dialogue repetition; they'll now ask for specific items, depending on the season.
- Villagers have new behaviours, such as talking to each other, eating random food from their inventories, and even fishing.
- Three new outfits.
- 18 new furniture and decorations.
- Two new bridges.
- 15 new cassettes have been added, which can be found in NPC shops, mine chests, and Jimmy, the visiting trader.
Island permission settings have been changed for multiplayer mode, adding a slew of changes, too!
- Players can now choose a default permission for first-time visitors.
- By clicking on the cog icon, players can change the permissions for their current visitors.
- As long as the host is using creative mode, so can the visitors.
- Players can now interact with containers, such as chests.
- Items can be dropped and picked up.
- Players can now decorate the interior of host and guest houses.
- Terraforming is now available.
- Tile objects can be picked up and placed down.
- Players can use vehicles.
- Players can interact with farm animals, such as milking, shearing, and selling.
There are also some Guest House changes:
- There can now be four.
- Players can put it up for rent, with the value automatically calculated by the house's interior decoration score.
- One of the four new villagers will move in the next day after placing the rent sign up.
- Players can take the Guest Houses on and off the market at any moment.
Last but not least, here are some random additions and changes:
- Players can eat food inside any building now.
- Decorations and furniture can be placed under pergolas and festoons.
- Pergolas and festoons take up less space now.
Keep an eye out, as Dinkum will release on the 23rd of April at 02:00 (UTC). While there won't be downtime during the maintenance, it's recommended to restart so you may access all the new content!
