Learn Everything About Dinkum's Official Launch!

Dinkum is a life & farming simulator inspired by Australia, where players set off to build a thriving town, go out on adventures, decorate, and more. The game's been out in Early Access for three years, and it's heading straight to launch with a 93% Very Positive score on Steam and nearly a whopping 20,000 reviews.

Here's everything you can expect with the official release:

  • Creative Mode (WARNING: Steam achievements will be permanently disabled for the save file if this mode is switched on).
  • A Town Bell deed can be unlocked after completing the Town Hall; when hit with a weapon or tool, it will show an icon for all the villagers on the map for 30 seconds.
  • A Bug Terrarium will be available, which becomes available when players reach level 30 in Bug Catching, and it works to produce Silk.
  • Four new villagers.
  • New vehicle: Planes, which can be driven with the Pilot License and can carry two people. It's faster than the helicopter but cannot hover in mid-air.
  • Gold Ore and Nuggets have been added, and they have a higher chance of appearing during heat waves.
  • Villagers have their own inventory now, and players can give them tools thatthey'll use when hanging out or give them clothes to wear.
  • Players can be revived by nearby Villagers.
  • A new request has been added to Villagers to decrease dialogue repetition; they'll now ask for specific items, depending on the season.
  • Villagers have new behaviours, such as talking to each other, eating random food from their inventories, and even fishing.
  • Three new outfits.
  • 18 new furniture and decorations.
  • Two new bridges.
  • 15 new cassettes have been added, which can be found in NPC shops, mine chests, and Jimmy, the visiting trader.

Island permission settings have been changed for multiplayer mode, adding a slew of changes, too!

  • Players can now choose a default permission for first-time visitors.
  • By clicking on the cog icon, players can change the permissions for their current visitors.
  • As long as the host is using creative mode, so can the visitors.
  • Players can now interact with containers, such as chests.
  • Items can be dropped and picked up.
  • Players can now decorate the interior of host and guest houses.
  • Terraforming is now available.
  • Tile objects can be picked up and placed down.
  • Players can use vehicles.
  • Players can interact with farm animals, such as milking, shearing, and selling.

There are also some Guest House changes:

  • There can now be four.
  • Players can put it up for rent, with the value automatically calculated by the house's interior decoration score.
  • One of the four new villagers will move in the next day after placing the rent sign up.
  • Players can take the Guest Houses on and off the market at any moment.

Last but not least, here are some random additions and changes:

  • Players can eat food inside any building now.
  • Decorations and furniture can be placed under pergolas and festoons.
  • Pergolas and festoons take up less space now.

Keep an eye out, as Dinkum will release on the 23rd of April at 02:00 (UTC). While there won't be downtime during the maintenance, it's recommended to restart so you may access all the new content!
