Tales of Seikyu Announces Official Early Access Release Date This Month in Latest Trailer

The latest in the farming sim genre brings Tales of Seikyu into the mix, an upcoming title where you'll set sail into the titular island where Yokai freely express themselves in human form. As a descendant of the Fox Clan, set sail into this land alongside the protagonist's sister, Kon, in a thriving farmhouse passed down through generations.

This life simulator mixes in Japanese magical elements in the form of Yokay transformations. These abilities can be used to tend to the land, fly through the sky, or explore the deep depths, bringing in a new layer of magical gameplay to the mix of the simulation genre.

Developed by ACE Entertainment and published by the renowned Fireshine Games, Tales of Seikyu will be released on Early Access. Yet, that doesn't mean that there won't be much to do in terms of gameplay, as it's coming with a large slate of content to enjoy.

According to the Senior Product Manager at Fireshine Games, Katie Clark, here is what we can expect in terms of gameplay content:

  • Explore the opening story content to acquaint yourself with the island of Seikyu and its inhabitants
  • Farming elements to tend to your garden
  • House decoration to build your dream Yokai world
  • The Carp Festival to celebrate and experience an in-game event
  • Six total romanceable characters

But that's not all — the Steam page also goes into a bit of detail regarding what'll be available for the title. Though this might not exactly reflect the Early Access gameplay 1:1, it's a good way to understand what Tales of Seikyu is all about.

Here are the key features awaiting you in Seikyu island:

  • A heartwarming tale exploring themes of family, friendship, and love
  • Various skills to unlock, ranging from farming, fishing, mining, crafting, and cooking
  • Yokai powers to enhance the experience, from combat to flight to day-to-day tasks
  • Seasons to partake in and festivals to enjoy
  • Hidden ruins full of treasures and secrets scattered across the island

If you're a fan of Japanese folklore or are looking for a possibly refreshing take on the farming genre, then Tales of Seikyu might be great for you! You can check it out once it releases on Early Access on the 21st of May 2025.
