The Next Entry to the Frostpunk Franchise Has Been Revealed: Frostpunk 1886!

11 bit studios are proud to showcase the next entry to the Frostpunk franchise: Frostpunk 1886; the name honours a pivotal moment in the timeline when the Great Storm descended on New London. This isn't the third instalment per se, as it's a fully reimagined revisit that expands upon the original game, but this time in Unreal Engine. The original engine that brought the game to life, Liquid Engine, is no longer being developed.

This is a perfect moment for veterans and newcomers to try out the game, as it doesn't offer just visual improvements; Frostpunk 1886 has new content, mechanics, laws, and even a brand-new Purpose path. For some, perhaps the most exciting part is the long-awaited mod support! This is something the game couldn't offer before due to technical limitations.

Fret not, however: this doesn't mean Frostpunk 2 is done; the sequel game will continue to get major content updates, DLC, and even has an upcoming console launch.
