Tiny Glades' Latest Update Doubles the Terrain Height and Adds Quality-Of-Life Improvements, Among Other New Features

Tiny Glade is a relaxing diorama builder chock-full of cottages and romantic ruins; this cosy game, which reached Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam with 17,162 reviews at the time of writing, is developed and published by Pounce Light.

As a quick summary, here's what changed in the latest update to Tiny Glade:

  • The terrain height has been doubled.
  • Circular buildings, such as support pillars, can now be rotated by right-clicking.
  • The minimum height for buildings with roofs has been changed, allowing for almost tent-like sizes.
  • Tiny Glade Super Resolution (TGSR), a technique added to lower GPU usage, has been implemented.
  • The Steam Deck video settings have been optimised.
  • Players can now right-click terrain chunks to show all the available options, such as height and falloff.
  • Chimney smoke is now toggleable.
  • The glade border is now a dashed line.
  • Tons of bugs have been fixed.

In the latest patch, the terrain height has been increased by double, meaning that land can be raised much higher now. In addition to this, by right-clicking on terrain chunks, players will enter a mode where they can see all the available controls, such as height and falloff.

Circular buildings are now possible to rotate gridlessly, too, by right-clicking on them. This means support pillars can be placed in more precise positions!

Before the upgrade, buildings with roofs were restricted to a minimum height, but that has since been removed. Players now have the freedom to make tent-like houses thanks to this change.

Wooden brackets will disappear to make space for other structure items (such as windows and doors) or when the building reaches the lowest height, allowing for more control.

Aside from these big changes, the Steam Deck video changes have been optimised, and a new technique for image quality has been added due to the complaints that graphics cards were struggling. This new addition can result in around 50% less GPU use. Players can enable TGSR by going to settings > video > image.

A handful of bug fixes have been tackled as well. If you'd like to learn more about that or the TGSR, you can find the full Steam post here.

Tiny Glade is available right now on Steam for £12.79!
