Top 18 Games Dropping on Steam This Week (12–18th May)

Top 18 Games Dropping on Steam This Week (12–18th May)

Every week, Steam gets an excessive number of titles releasing, and it’s difficult to keep up with some of the most promising ones with all the noise going around some of the biggest AAA titles (DOOM: The Dark Ages, anyone?). To aid with not missing some gems, we’re highlighting some of the best titles launching over the week.

Between the 12th of May to the 18th of May, there are 252 total games releasing, and we picked 18 titles we thought you should keep an eye out for throughout the week.

DOOM: The Dark Ages

  • Developer: id Software
  • Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
  • Genre: Action
  • Tags: Action, FPS, Demons
  • Release date: 12th of May / 15th of May
  • Steam Link

Believe it or not, the launch of DOOM: The Dark Ages is officially here. First announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase 2024, it’s been nearly a year since we’ve seen much about the title, and much like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it feels almost like a shadow drop for Bethesda.

Whether coincidence or a new strategy, you can expect to pick up DOOM: The Dark Ages this week; you can begin your journey on the 12th of May if you pre-purchase the Premium Edition for £99.99 for Advanced Access, or get it for £69.99 and begin on the 15th of May.

From vehicle chases to helicopter rides and full-on gunfights, you can check out The Precinct on the 13th of May, though you can also try the demo and see if it’s to your liking before committing.

Another simulation and management entry, Blacksmith Master has you taking on the role of a medieval smithy to supervise all things forging: mining ores and gems, crafting products, and selling the weapons.

  • Steam Link

It’s a surprise that Supergiant Games’ Hades didn’t spawn more clones or create its own genre, and though you’ll see a few titles here and there honouring the incredible combat, it’s a criminally low amount of games trying to capture that same essence. To that regard, 7QUARK and Game Source Entertainment’s Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a boon for those who are looking to take that feeling into a Japanese-inspired world.

Already delayed on the 28th of March originally, players will be able to pick up the stylistic title on the 14th of May. If you want to begin battling your way through a fantasy realm set in the Edo period, fighting swarms of demons to reveal the hidden truths, you can pick up the demo to give it a shot ahead of release.

House Flipper 2 built on the original’s success, and though it failed to capture that same spark as evidenced by its concurrent player counts, Frozen District isn’t over with it just yet. The House Flipper 2 - Co-op DLC will be a free addition, letting players join together to renovate homes and resell them.

Though some steps were taken back from the original, Mike Crewe praised House Flipper 2 for some huge strides forward in terms of its quality-of-life improvements. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to check out his review. If you’re interested, you can pick up House Flipper 2 for £32.49, though it has seen a historical low of £21.11 in the past, with a possible discount on the horizon due to the upcoming DLC bringing in more eyes.
