Tower of Fantasy Reviews Drop to Mixed After Possible Account Issues Surface

The free open-world MMORPG Tower of Fantasy has been out on Steam since the 20th of October 2022, benefitting from the market created by MiHoYo's Genshin Impact. Though it has faced its fair share of hurdles along the way, it has found a community of loyal fans that follow it through its updates, including the latest 4.7 update out now.

Fans have been eager about the future of Tower of Fantasy, as Hotta Studio moves away from their previous mobile and PC publisher Level Infinite and works to make the transfer over to Perfect World Games, the parent company of the developerThese changes have been received with praise and support, as players look forward to a new era.

This same transfer, however, has caused a fair few issues. The Account Transfer and Authorization Verification running in Tower of Fantasy currently is rewarding players with items, but those who are doing so are encountering an issue: losing their account and money after the transfer.

On the recent reviews on Steam, Tower of Fantasy has dropped to a 52% positive rate from 144 reviewers. This wave of red comments are coming from users who have been doing their account transfers and have been struggling with their characters being deleted, removing their progress and paid support of the title.

Though some of the comments are complaints about the current systems in place, from people talking about the events feeling boring to the abusive gacha system, a majority of these are issues caused by the account transfer. These have been cropping up as of last month, though the Tower of Fantasy team hasn't touched on the topics regarding the issues just yet.

Despite the recent controversies, however, some users are reporting having been able to find their account after searching through the server list. Others have reported issues with some of the e-mail logins, though it is unclear how many of these are possible user errors and how many could be possible issues with the overall transfer of the accounts.
