V Rising's Free Content Update Invaders of Oakveil Is Available Now; Watch the Launch Trailer Here!

 Developed and published by Stunlock Studios, V Rising is a gothic open-world base-building survival that can be played solo or with friends. The game released nearly exactly a year ago, and it's received a whopping 92,997 reviews since, with an 89% Very Positive score.

V Rising just got a ton of new content added with the 1.1 update, named Invaders of Oakveil, and it's all free! Strap down because this is going to be a long news piece.

Oakveil used to be a peaceful zone before raiders infested the land with dark magic through a dark ritual. Megara, the Serpent Queen's legion, named the Venom Blades, corrupts everything, drying the land of its precious resource: Venom Sap. Throughout their journey to fight her and her minions off, players will get to learn the secret techniques from the Venom Blades.

The update adds a lot of content to explore, including some new features to breathe life into PvP and a whole new zone to explore. Players will find new enemies to take out, from the fearsome Megara, the Serpent Queen, to the master horseman Sir Erwin, the Gallant Cavalier!

The game's combat got some improvement, and there's a great place to try it out at: the new arena feature. This new mechanic offers the chance to release some steam without fear of losing gear, whether it's in 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, or clan-wide showdowns. These duels can be done almost anywhere in the world, including players' Castles.

Alongside all of this arrive three new weapons: Claws, Twinblades, and Throwing Daggers, each with their strengths and styles (like being able to look like a vampiric Wolverine). These aren't the only new ways to build up your arsenal, as there are a whopping seven new spells, including a new Shard Ultimate.

Enhance your weapons further with the new coating, which bathes them in alchemical enchantments, improving them with magical effects. For those who want even more, there are body-enhancing elixirs that can help players sustain more blows or hit harder!

All of these combat-centred features crescendo at a massive overhaul that's coming, with stat reworks, rebalancing of gear, and new customisation!

It's not all about the fighting, though: Castles are getting some upgrades, too! The new treasury will allow players to pull out ingredients without having to open chests, which works well with the new Fusion Forge, which allows jewels and legendary weapons to be modified and merged. Another way to make use of the new treasury is the advanced sawmill: a new, more efficient way to cut wood!

For those who are itching to get into the action, the stables will provide an easy way to enhance mounts to their maximum potential, including training them to learn new riding techniques, such as resisting dismounted!

Once you're back from your raids and murder sprees, you might be hungry... well, now you can head to your new vampiric snack room: the prison. Fill it with hypnotised creatures that work as blood bags!

Last but not least, there are new decorations to spruce up the Castle and show off to enemies and allies alike!
