Which Consoles is NASCAR 25 Coming to, And Can We Expect It on PC?
The highly anticipated NASCAR 25 title developed by the team that brought iRacing to Steam has had a fair bit of questions regarding its release state, with many questioning where — exactly — they will be able to enjoy the latest racing title. The expertise of iRacing as a team, working on racing for decades now, will bring experience to the table to ensure it feels like a well-crafted title, but that same reputation has brought up a few questions.
As of now, NASCAR 25's platform release has been a hot topic. While it would seem obvious to expect such a significant title to be released on PC, problems crop up when talking about the developers of the title, alongside their title iRacing, which is still seeing updates and support 10 years after release.
Receiving around a thousand concurrent players daily, iRacing (and thus, the same company currently developing NASCAR '25) is the type of game that wouldn't want a behemoth like NASCAR 25 popping up as a competitor to the genre. Being an MMO with a subscription-based pricing model, iRacing is looking to stay around in the long run, which would indicate that the upcoming title should see no PC release.
This has been echoed in the past, as the developer has been nothing short of dodgy in mentioning an official list of consoles. Furthering this theory is the fact that despite coming out this year (in the fall, to be precise), NASCAR 25 has yet to even receive an official Steam page.
However, as of the latest press release about the Dev Diary: Ep 03, we have received an update regarding the possible release on PC, confirming the following: NASCAR 25 is coming to PC and consoles. While this is short of a store page or an announcement on a trailer, it's safe to assume that we can expect the title to receive a PC release, especially seeing as no console store pages have been opened for this very title despite being confirmed for consoles.
So, the short and sweet of it? Yes! We can expect NASCAR 25 to receive a PC release. We don't know exactly on what platforms yet, or even whether it'll be a standalone launcher, the Epic Games Store, GOG, or Steam, but we do know that we can expect it to arrive on PC when the game launches this fall.
