inZOI Officially Launches to Early Access

Electronic Arts' Sims franchise has been dominating the genre since its inception, being the only life simulator that focuses on the actual life aspect of it all: life and death. As the videogame industry grew, the genre steered more towards life simulation and the cosy genre that we know today, spearheaded by ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley, but Sims kept its position on the podium for "real-life" simulators.

The genre has since been uncontested, with many trying but ultimately failing to achieve an audience (or, in the worst cases, outright cancellation before its release). This is why the highly anticipated inZOI funded by KRAFTON (who you may know for Player Unknown's Battlegrounds) became such a centrepiece focus of the industry and took the spotlight so easily.

KRAFTON is no stranger to success, and by the time of the release of the Early Access, neither was inZOI. Skyrocketing in followers and wishlists after its Online Showcase was the first of its many accomplishments, as the title secured its spot in the all-time peak charts, sitting at a comfortable 87,377 all-time concurrent players and securing its 207th spot.

With over 100,000 games on Steam as of June 2024, this is no small achievement to scoff at, and for an Early Access title, inZOI has placed itself as one of the best 2025 releases so far (not that the bar has been set that high). Reception was far from negative, too, with the very early version of the title receiving over 10,000 reviews with a total of 84% positive scores, and most complaints being about minor things the team can fix up or missing elements of live sims that would place it more competitively against Sims 4.

The all-time concurrent peak is still hitting high 40,000s, basking in joining the top-played games on any given day and breaching the top 100 with ease. Sitting at a £34.99, many fans have praised the pricing structure due to its promise of free DLC throughout the Early Access period and the fact that it costs just about as much as a Sims 4 expansion pack.

inZOI is available now on Steam.
