Lies of P Officially Announces Upcoming DLC in PlayStation State of Play
Released on the 13th of September 2023, NEOWIZ shook the world with their soulslike take on Pinnochio's tale, as Lies of P released to the wider audience, and soon enough, it was winning awards and getting high scores. Not only does this ambitious title bolster a 92% positive rating with nearly 35,000 reviews but it also earned GameGrin's love in both 2023's Game Awards and in our very review.
Following the staggering success, NEOWIZ is looking to continue on their successful venture with the official DLC: Lies of P: Overture. Though it isn't quite the return to the title in the form of a sequel that was left teased by the team in the post-credits scene, it brings players back to Krat... only different.
Return to the city of puppets at a different time: just before the Puppet Frenzy struck the land and turned everything into an apocalyptic nightmare. Taking control of the puppet-turned-boy, go back in time and witness the events that led to the official narrative that was unfolded back in 2023, as you fight all-new puppets, bosses, and experience the unique combat style that offers a mixture of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and DARK SOULS.
After interacting with an artefact that returns you to a pre-apocalyptic Krat, you'll uncover hidden truths, dark secrets, and grapple with loss and vengeance. The choices you make, however, will reflect in the world of Lies of P, leaving lasting consequences in the world around you.
The trailer isn't the only thing we got to see about Lies of P, though, as an official letter from the game's director, Jiwon Choi, was shared as well. In this, they talk about the future of the experience and how Lies of P: Overture works as a director's cut to the overall universe, stating that the team was constantly brainstorming until the end.
We can expect Lies of P: Overture sometime in the summer of 2025, and it is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC via Steam, and Mac via the Mac App Store.
